FAQ

How can I join the topdads.uk community?

Simply join one of the daily zoom links above to take your first step.

What topics are covered in this community?

We are a community of men and dads and the topics are lead by our members, the community is focused on shared experience and when we share our experience we hope to help another in the group who may learn from it.

Is the platform confidential and safe for sharing?

Yes, We take our confidentiality principle very seriously and amongst our other principles we can ensure a safe space for everyone.

Are there any rules within the community?

We operate with a list of 10 non negotiable boundaries which keep ourselves and others safe.

  1. We respect confidentiality at all times.
Everything shared during Topdads meetings remains private and is not discussed outside the group, which creates trust and ensures that all members feel safe sharing personal experiences.
  2. We do not use our families’ names in these meetings.
Protecting the anonymity and dignity of our family members prevents unnecessary exposure, respects their privacy, and ensures that sharing our stories does not compromise their safety or reputation.
  3. We listen to one another without judgment.
Every member’s experience is valid, and listening openly fosters empathy, understanding, and a supportive environment where all members feel heard.
  4. We speak from our own experience using “I” statements.
Focusing on our personal experiences helps prevent assumptions about others’ lives and encourages honest and meaningful reflection.
  5. We do not offer unsolicited advice.
Advice is most effective when it is requested, and this rule ensures that discussions remain supportive rather than prescriptive or controlling.
  6. We allow every member a chance to speak.
Equal participation strengthens the community and ensures that no single voice dominates the conversation.
  7. We maintain respect in all interactions.
Harassment, ridicule, or personal attacks are never acceptable, and respectful communication protects the safety and dignity of all members.
  8. We may share experiences of risky, harmful, or illegal activities, but we do so responsibly and without encouraging others to engage in them.
Sharing personal experiences, including mistakes or past actions, is allowed to foster learning, reflection, and support. Members must avoid giving instructions or advice that could put anyone at risk, and the focus should always remain on understanding, growth, and support rather than endorsement.
  9. We participate actively but responsibly.
Active engagement strengthens the group, but members must also respect the structure, schedule, and shared purpose of the meetings.
  10. We acknowledge and respect differences among members.
Members come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and showing acceptance and inclusivity promotes connection, understanding, and richer dialogue.
